The aria Dolce suono di tromba giuliva is taken from the oratorio Gioseffo, che interpreta i sogni (libretto by G. B. Neri), written in Vienna in 1726. The trumpet soloist dialogues with the soprano and bass voices accompanied by a string orchestra (violins I, II and viola) and bass continuo. The belligerant text invokes the sound of war trumpets and announces victory, in line with the rhetoric characterized by the specific use of the trumpet. The instrumental soloist in C plays with the voices reproposing figures typical of the trumpet language in the clarino register, going up with agility to the 15th harmonic, touching the 16th, and not skimping on the extensive employment of the trill and of chromaticism on the acute harmonics.
